Our Prairie Homecoming weekend, features a variety of special events listed below. In addition to meeting the Little House on the Prairie television show Cast Members and screening Little House Homecoming, you may be interested in taking in the following:

• A guided tour of historic buildings and an exhibit of artifacts at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society.

• A covered wagon ride, a one-room school session and pioneer activities at the Ingalls Homestead

• A stop at the Loftus Store Laura described in The Long Winter on our historic main street, Calumet Ave

• A drive to historic points of interest, the De Smet Cemetery, Almanzo Wilder’s Homestead site, or Lake Thompson

Little House Homecoming is more than a feature-length documentary. It is a love letter to all things Laura Ingalls Wilder, her beloved books and Little House on the Prairie, the television show that brought the books to life 50 years ago. Dean Butler, Charlotte Stewart, and Wendi Lou Lee will join documentarian Jonathan Parker to discuss the lasting impact of Laura Ingalls Wilder, Little House on the Prairie, and the people how help preserve and present this history.

Use of the ‘Little House’ in the title is used with the permission of Friendly Family Productions, LLC, the owner of the ‘Little House on the Prairie’ name and trademarks.

The Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant cast welcomes you to the annual reader’s theater De Smet Cemetery Tour.  Learn about De Smet’s early residents in our beautiful shade-filled cemetery, which is the final resting place of Laura’s parents, sisters, and infant son.

Join us for special Sunday brunch followed by a screening of the new documentary Little House Homecoming. Special guests Dean Butler, Charlotte Stewart, and Wendi Lou Lee, cast member from the Little House on the Prairie television show, will join us for a luncheon and participate in a panel discussion after the documentary. Our local ‘Sunday Funday’ brunch crew has put together a delicious menu including a club sandwich, salad, dessert and a cocktail or mocktail. Limited tickets available to share a table with the cast members.
Doors at 11am. Lunch served at 11:30am. Documentary at 1pm.
