The story of the little girl called “Half-Pint” continues in “The Long Winter.”

Capture the pioneering spirit of the Little House books in this year’s pageant. “The Long Winter” is a heartwarming story of Laura Ingalls and her family’s joys and struggles as they settle the Dakota prairie. Join us as we bring this unforgettable story to life!

The setting sun and the Dakota Prairie provide a wonderful backdrop for the outdoor pageant. The pageant is held one mile southeast of De Smet. From the pageant grounds you can see the land that Pa homesteaded and the cottonwoods he planted. The Big Slough and Silver Lake are nearby.

“The Long Winter” brings Laura’s stories wonderfully to life.
