The story of the little girl called “Half-Pint” continues in “These Happy Golden Years.” Join Laura as she leaves home for the fist time to become a teacher in a small country school. Will she be able to manage the classroom or will the students’ pranks be more than she can handle?
“These Happy Golden Years” continues the story of Laura and Almanzo, as their friendship blossoms into a romance. All of your favorite characters are back including Ma, Pa, Mary, Carrie, and Grace. Watch out for Laura’s rival, Nellie Oleson. What kind of trouble will she stir up this time?
Capture the pioneering spirit of the Little House books in this year’s pageant. “These Happy Golden Years” is a heartwarming story of Laura Ingalls and her family’s joys and struggles as they settle the Dakota prairie. Join us as we bring this unforgettable story to life!
The setting sun and the Dakota Prairie provide a wonderful backdrop for the outdoor pageant. The pageant is held one mile southeast of De Smet. From the pageant grounds you can see the land that Pa homesteaded and the cottonwoods he planted. The Big Slough and Silver Lake are nearby.
